Normal Weapons
Pistol
This is the default starting weapon. While not very powerful, it does have two advantages - first, it is very accurate, and second, it is quick to reload. The pistol uses caseless ammunition of a high caliber fired at a velocity of 800 feet per second, and is safe to use on most ships.
Submachine Gun
The submachine gun is meant to be used at medium range, and is not an accurate weapon. The rounds are smaller caliber and shorter than those used in the pistol, but the trade off is that the weapon holds 50 rounds and has a very high rate of fire. Since this weapon uses clips as well, it reloads almost as quickly as the pistol. The small caliber of the rounds and relatively small amount of propellant makes this weapon a good choice for engagements where higher caliber rounds could cause depressurization.
Shotgun
The shotgun uses modern day caseless variants of classic shell ammunition. The classic design of the shotgun enables the user to insert specialty rounds and fire them immediately, and so it has changed very little in the last couple of hundred years. This means that although it is a potent weapon, especially at close range, each shell must be loaded individually. Because it is so slow to reload, a backup weapon is suggested.
Rifle
The purpose of the modern day sniper rifle has changed little - It's purpose is still to kill over long range with a single round, when in the right hands. The round used in the modern rifle is long and needle-like, made of depleted uranium and powerful enough to punch through most Armour. The kickback is bad enough to seriously injure an unaugmented human though, and so these weapons remain in the hands of the military or special police units. With an increase in armored crimes and EVA engagements, the design was changed to allow specialty rounds to be loaded, similar to the shotgun. Besides external missions, rifles are very seldom used aboard ships or satellites, as standard rounds have the ability to easily punch through a hull or window.
Flamer
The flamer, as it is affectionately called, is a fairly common weapon. Although the results are almost always ugly and lethal, police and the military continue to utilize the weapons, as they have a very low likelihood of damaging important equipment. This is especially advantageous on board satellites and ships. The ammunition ignites when mixed, and is then ejected from the weapon. The weapon is even useful in the vacuum of space, as the chemicals used provide their own oxygen.
Grenades
Modern Grenades come in two types: High explosive and incendiary. Fragmentation Grenades proved dangerous in low gravity/thin atmosphere environments as the fragments could injure or kill friendly units hundreds of feet away, and are not often available.
Super Weapons
Launcher
Modern explosives are more powerful than ever. The rocket launcher is designed to take out small ships and large vehicles, including powered armor. It includes a gyro setup which acts as a stabilizer in order to keep from launching the user in the opposite direction of the rocket in low gravity. As a result, this weapons is cumbersome to use at best, even in low gravity.
Chaingun
Chain guns are meant to be mounted on vehicles, not people. For some reason that doesn't stop people from trying to create a portable variant. The most recent attempt has been extremely successful. The weapon has a very high rate of fire utilizing needler type ammunition, although usage in low gravity environments necessitates the use of a stabilizer.
